Can Your Business Help Our Students In 2014?

Gleneagles Secondary College is a rapidly growing school and we need the assistance of our community to support our Work Experience program.  Work experience is an important part of the school’s educational program where students experience the world of work, often for the first time.  It involves the short term placement of secondary school students with employers, to provide insights into the industry, and the workplace in which they are located. Students are placed with employers primarily to observe and learn – not to undertake activities which require extensive training or expertise. At Gleneagles Secondary College work experience for Year 10 students is seen as a way to:-

  • Explore possible career options
  • Develop a realistic understanding of the world of work
  • Understand employer expectations
  • Increase students’ maturity, independence,  self-confidence and insight

Work experience is about future planning and we would like to call upon the community to help. We are looking for a range of new contacts for our students in all types of industries and in all kinds of work environments. If you or anyone you know would be happy to have a vibrant young person on work experience for one week in 2014 then please contact the college.

Chris Wood, the College Careers Counsellor is available (Tuesday to Friday) to provide advice and support to potential companies and or businesses who wish to take on a work experience student and can be contacted on Tel 9708 1319 or by email at
