Buses – MYKI

The bus companies have advised that a large number of students are still failing to touch on or off their MYKI when travelling.   It is important that students always touch on and off on every trip on the buses where a MYKI machine is installed, even if they are using the pre-paid MYKI pass (weekly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly).

The bus companies monitor patronage via the new MYKI system electronically, which could mean that if students are not touching on and off properly, the message the PTV gets from the systems is that the demand for passengers on routes relevant to our school are very low, and in some cases so low that no service is required.  This could result in the bus service to our school being reduced or lost.
