Musical Notes

Earlier last week, selected students from Years 7, 8 and 9 were given the opportunity to attend the annual Junior Bandfest which was held at Carrum Downs Secondary College. This took place on Tuesday, 29th October and included instrumental music students from regional and local schools. Students participated in an all day workshop under the direction of Monte Mumford, an accomplished music educator and conductor with many years of teaching experience, both in Australia and overseas. Many valuable learning strategies were passed on to the students, aimed to improve their future playing ability. A performance of two completed pieces of music were professionally recorded and will be distributed to the participating students at a later date. Thanks goes to Kim Ball (flute teacher), Paul Dunn (brass teacher), Mark Dipnall (woodwind teacher), Zorana Horvat for accompanying and helping the students on the day.
