Gleneagles Homework Club

THURSDAYS, 3.00PM – 4.30PM

Our Thursday after school Homework Club attendance is outstanding!  The last three weeks we have had 101, 104 and 114 students respectively! Coupled with that has been the huge support from staff (many teachers, Library staff and Gina Fahey who is one of our Integration Aides) and from other avenues – Jeff Riley (parent), June Michael (Smith Family), Liz Currie and Zahra from Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre, Madeleine, Victoria, Jietson, Amelia and Luisa from Embrace at Monash which is a volunteer tutoring service to schools, Phill Start the Multicultural Youth Project Officer from the City of Casey and Laura Wilks our Social Worker.   We are really fortunate at this school to have such support for our students.  All staff who attend do so voluntarily and enjoy the opportunity to assist and build connections with students, not just the ones they teach.  Homework Club is appropriate for all Year levels and all subject areas and operates from 3.00pm – 4.30pm every Thursday.  I would still like to encourage families to donate a packet of biscuits to help us provide Afternoon Tea for the students. Thank you very much to those families but I would like to think many more of you can help us out in this request.  Hoping everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday period and comes back refreshed to tackle Term 2.
