On Wednesday 13th August the Year 11 physics students attended an excursion to Ecolinc in Bacchus Marsh. Ecolinc offers a specialised full day program about sustainable energy sources catered to the Year 11 physics detailed study. All Year 11 physics students had an opportunity to investigate the ESD features of Ecolinc’s building and the greenhouse effect; examine electricity usage and efficiency of a variety of appliances; and explore alternative energy sources. Students’ explored efficiency of light globe and other house hold appliances. Students also investigated solar electricity generation, wind turbines, hydroelectricity and hydrogen fuel cells. It was a wonderful and educationally rich experience for all physics students.
