Fundraising for Joshua Evans, Year 12

In December 2014, Gleneagles student Josh Evans was involved in a mountain biking accident whilst training for an upcoming event. In the accident Josh suffered damage to his spinal cord at his C4 and C5 vertebrae, resulting in limited movement and function below his chest. Josh is working hard every day at The Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre to increase his movement as much as possible. Josh is a fun loving student that remains well connected to his peers. Everyone who has visited him since his accident has admired his spirit and humour. His determination has allowed for him to make the progress so far. Josh has a sister Janelle in Year 10 and had an older brother (Tim) graduated from Gleneagles in 2011.

To assist with Josh’s ongoing treatment and recovery the ‘Dosh for Josh’ fundraising crew started fundraising at the Gleneagles Swimming Carnival last week via a sausage sizzle. The crew would like to thank all staff and students who contributed by purchasing sausages and drinks and also a big thank you to those who made generous donations on the day.

The ‘Dosh for Josh’ fundraising crew are also planning a Trivia Night for Wednesday 25th March 2015 to be held at Gleneagles, “The Shed” starting at 6.00pm. Tickets for the Trivia Night will be available for purchase from the College Bursar’s Office from Tuesday 10th March 2015. $10 per ticket. Teams/Tables of 8-10 people.

We are also seeking donations of any kind to assist with a silent auction on the night as well as food donations for raffling or sale at the canteen. If you are able to assist with donations for the Trivia Night or are keen to help in any way with future fundraising events for this very worthy cause please contact Ms Jo Tippett, Senior School Leader on Telephone 9708 1319 or email:
