Our Culture Week

our culture

Gleneagles is celebrating ‘Our Culture Week’ next week to see out Semester 1 of the school year. Every day of the week there will be something happening at the school:

Monday, 22nd June 2015Flag Design Competition, library.

Tuesday, 23rd June 2015:  Photo Booth, by Year 11 locker bays.

Wednesday, 24th June 2015Multicultural Food Tasting in the canteen.

Thursday, 25th June 2015 Free Dress Day (Traditional Dress Theme* see below).

Friday, 26th June 2015Dance Performance near the newly constructed Friendship Seat.

The Free Dress Day on Thursday, 25th June 2015 is a special one: dress in ‘traditional garments’ and pay only $1 for the day! And if anyone is unsure about what their heritage is ask parents, grandparents and trace your lineage back to somewhere that has a ‘traditional dress’!

So whether it’s an Arabic Bisht or a Scottish Quilt, you’ll know whether you qualify as ‘traditionally dressed’ or not! Otherwise, the regular $2 free dress donation applies.

All donations will go to the East Timor fund.

So let’s celebrate our unique diversity together and cherish the richness that culture from all traditions bring to Gleneagles.
