Junior Girls AFL Team

RAINING GOALS

On Monday, 9th May 2016 the Gleneagles Junior Girls AFL team took to the field at Sweeney Reserve to battle it out against three  other schools to claim the division title. The girls shot out of the blocks in their first game against Kambrya with the final score 0–83. During Game #2 against Fountain Gate the heavens opened with nearly 10ml of rain falling in 30 minutes, the girls also took out the win 0–55. The final game against Berwick was shorten due to waterlog on the field but the final score was 0–51. It was a fantastic team effort without having a single point scored against us all day! The team couldn’t have performed so well without the support of parents and family members who braved the weather and cheered from the sidelines. We would also like to acknowledge and thank our three Year 9 student helpers who worked tirelessly throughout the day (Matt Chmait 9L, Bashir Ali Zadar 9E and Josh Smith 9K) who goal umpired, ran the boundary and ran water.  The team now move onto the SMR round later in the year.  Names of all the students pictured below are on the College website.
