NEW SOCCER PITCH AT GLENEAGLES
I am excited to advise the school and local community that the development of a new, full sized synthetic soccer pitch is going ahead. It is pleasing to note that the Gleneagles College Council has been able to work with the State Government, both the previous Coalition and current Labor Governments to secure a total of $1 million (50/50%) and the City of Casey who have now committed a further $415,000 to the project (while also exploring other funding sources). This College has committed $100,000 to the facility. The City of Casey and the College will develop a Joint Use Agreement that will cover the ongoing management and maintenance of the pitch and associated facilities.
I offer my sincere thanks to Cr Rafal Kaplon who was supported by Cr Rosalie Crestani (representing Four Oaks Ward), Hon. Luke Donnellan, MP (Minister for Roads, Road Safety & Ports; State Member for Narre Warren North), Cr Amanda Stapledon (representing Mayfield Ward and candidate for Narre Warren North), all who have advocated for this project and secured funds towards its development. Without their support this project would not be possible. A full size synthetic pitch will provide a much needed facility to support our excellent sporting program and additional space for our large school community. It will also ensure that a local soccer club will be able to enjoy a high quality facility, year round. It really is a win, win situation for the school and the Endeavour Hills community.
