EAL (English as an Additional Language)

EALD is designed to assist students from a non-English speaking background to improve their English language skills.  Students who have been living in Australia for less than seven years and are from a non-English speaking background are eligible to enrol in these classes.

The aim is to increase the student’s English language communication and written skills through a variety of activities and experiences. Learning more about the Australian way of life both socially and culturally will assist students in adapting more easily to the school system. Using ICT will expand their skills and competencies in the English language, particularly to assist in developing their listening, reading and writing skills. Fieldwork and excursions provide the opportunity to interact with the wider school community.

Dedicated  EALD classes are run at every Year level.   Classes usually have up to 10 students.
