An event, Book club – Melbourne Writers Festival , has been planned for Tuesday, 3 September 2019. Students we will visit The Little Library which is located on level 2 of Melbourne Central. This is a different library. Members of the public may borrow any book and have the choice of returning the book or keeping the book. If you keep the book, you need to either leave a donation or leave a book in its place. Remember to bring an unwanted book from home if you’d like to borrow from The Little Library.
We will then make our way to the State Library of Victoria (across the road) Students will attend 2 sessions: • More Than a Thousand Words with Maxine Beneba Clarke and Alison Lester. 45 minutes at the Isabella Frazer Room, State Library of Victoria. 11.15am – 12pm. Hear them share how they decide what to tell with pictures and what to tell with words. • Oh, The Intrigue with Judith Rossell. 45 minutes at the Isabella Frazer Room,
State Library of Victoria. 1pm – 1.45pm. Stella Montgomery sure gets up to some mischief, but not all of her own making. Her creator Judith Rossell is a bestselling author–illustrator who knows a thing or three about writing mysteries, and she’ll share tips so you can write – and draw – them too!
