An event, School of Earth, Atmosphere & Environment, has been planned for Wednesday, 20 February 2019 for 9E students. . This event will demonstrate the principles of earth sciences and physical geography by utilising a series of investigative, hands-on activities and experiments that are linked to the Victorian Curriculum. The three 1.5-hour interactive science lessons will focus on rocks, minerals and the rock cycle, plate tectonics and resources, and will be run in our two, state-of-the-art teaching laboratories in the SEAE. Students will also have direct access to Monash University post-graduate students and research scientists who can provide an insight into their disciplines. PhD students will discuss university life with students, and suggest possible career pathways in earth sciences, physical geography and atmospheric sciences.
Each student will be issued with a voucher for food and drink.
Students will be transported by bus.
Consent can be provided online through the school’s parent portal (https://gleneagles-vic.compass.education), or alternatively by downloading the permission form and returning the tear-off slip, with payment to the Bursar. Consent is due by 15th February.
