Students will participate in the schools program at Marngoneet Correctional Centre in Lara as part of their studies in VCE Legal Studies. Students will have the opportunity to interview a prisoner panel to discuss issues around personal accountability, reasons for offending behaviour and life in prison. The prisoner panel will consist of individuals who have committed serious criminal offences. Participation in this program will facilitate an understanding and insight into modern correctional issues and the consequences of offending behaviour in society. Students are required to wear full school uniform, bring lunc and snacks.Students will be transported by Bus departing Gleneagles 6:45am with a lunch stop on the return journey, arriving back at Gleneagles by 2:55pm. Please note that students bags cannot be taken into the facility and will need to be leftt on the bus.
Cost per students is $36 and is due by 9th October.
Consent/Payment can be provided online through the school’s parent portal (http://gleneagles-vic.compass.education), or alternatively by downloading the permission form from Compass and returning the tear-off slip, with payment to the Bursar.
