War on Waste – Plastics Polution

An event, War on Waste – Plastics Polution, has been planned for Thursday, 7 September 2017.  Year 9 SEAL and Yr 11  Environmental Science will be investigating the impact of plastic on the marine environment by visiting the Dolphin Research Centre at Hastings.  Then head to Replas Industries in Carrum Downs to look at how soft plastics are recycled into useful products. The impact of plastics on our environment is devastating and the solutions are part of everyone’s responsibility. This excursion aims to educate the students in plastics chemistry and the ecological implications of plastic in the food chain.  Students are required to wear full school uniform and will be transported by bus, departing at 8:430 and returning by 2:55pm. Students should bring lunch & snacks.

Consent/Payment can be provided online through the Compass parent portal or alternatively by downloading the permission form from Compass and returning the tear off slip, with payment to the Bursar.

Cost per students is $18.00 and is due by 1st September.
