SELECT ENTRY ACCELERATED LEARNING (SEAL) PROGRAM

YEAR 7, 2021 STUDENTS

 

Please note that due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the timeline and procedure for this selection process has been amended. 

 

Thank you for your interest in the SEAL Program at Gleneagles for Year 7, 2021 students.  Listed below are some important dates and procedures regarding the SEAL Program.

 

SEAL INFORMATION:

As the college is unable to hold an Information Night due to current DET guidelines, we have instead included more information on our website regarding our SEAL program. We also encourage parents interested in the program to contact us via email at seal@gleneagles.vic.edu.au if you have any specific queries that you would like to discuss.

Please read the information below regarding the process required to apply for entry to the 2021 Year 7 SEAL class.

 

MONDAY 18 MAY 2020, 4.00PM – SEAL APPLICATIONS AND TEST PAYMENTS CLOSE:

 

The SEAL Year 7, 2021 Application (Form A) and the Parent Referral (Form B) are to be completed by parents and may be returned via email to seal@gleneagles.vic.edu.au

Alternatively, applications may be delivered to the College reception marked Attention, Kathie Toth (Assistant Principal). The College Reception is open between 8.00 am and 3.30pm

 

Whilst the college covers a significant portion of the cost of the SEAL testing, candidates need to pay a $30 fee. This fee is paid directly to Edutest and must be paid by 4.00pm Monday 18 May.

The Teacher Referral Form (Form C) – parents are asked to give this document to the Grade 6, 2020 Teacher to complete.  The teacher is required to send the Confidential document directly to the college (not via the parent).

 

SATURDAY 30 MAY 2020 – SEAL SELECTION TEST 2021 – 9.00AM START: 

The testing will be held on Saturday 30 May 2020. This is an online test and must be done within the set timeframe.  

 

Students will be able to access the tests by logging on to the secure URL link, which will be emailed a day prior to the test date, using a secure ID and password.

 

The online testing will take two hours and is multiple-choice style.

The ONLINE assessment consists of four tests:

  1. Verbal Reasoning
  2. Numerical Reasoning
  3. Reading Comprehension
  4. Mathematics

 

The College will contact each candidate when the results are available in late June.  

 

Note: Students who have not returned Form A and Form B, and completed the online registration with Edutest, including the payment of the test fee of $30.00 by the due date of 4.00 pm Monday 18 May 2020 will not be eligible to sit the SEAL Test on Saturday 30 May 2020.
