MYKI
Further information specific to student travel arrangements under myki can be obtained by visiting www.myki.com.au and going to the student area under the “About myki” section of the website, or by calling 1800 800 007 (6.00am – midnight daily) or by completing a myki Registration form.
Students travelling to and from school are required to have a valid MYKI card. Students caught without a valid MYKI will be issued with on the spot fines by Public Transport Vitoria (PTV).
PTV use MYKI recorders to monitor service usage and if there isn’t enough recorded paying passengers, services will be cancelled as they will be deemed unviable.
Students can get discounted travel through a child myki card or a Victorian Student Pass. See PTV’s school students page for how to apply.
The Department of Transport and Planning’s Travel Pass program provides 30-day travel passes
to schools at no cost for students. These are available for students experiencing sudden financial hardship or at risk of disengaging from education to ensure they can continue to travel to school by public transport. This program is facilitated by State Schools’ Relief and students’ eligibility will be determined through a case-by-case assessment by the school. To apply or enquire about eligibility, please e-mail SSR@gleneagles.vic.edu.au
