To learn an instrument is an opportunity not to be missed. At Gleneagles, we offer group tuition on numerous instruments and aim to achieve balanced bands to maximise performance opportunities.
Students are offered opportunities to perform as part of the school choir, school bands, ensembles and as a soloist. Performances may take place during an assembly, end of term/semester evening concerts, Variety Night, SEVR workshops/concerts, presentation night, Victorian Schools Music Festival and external performances as organised by the school.
Students attend one group lesson per week on a rotating timetable. Group lessons are offered in Years 7-10 with VCE students receiving private tuition when studying Music Performance as a subject.
Students are required to purchase tutor books, as advised by the instrumental teacher. Some instruments may require the occasional purchase of some accessories as required by their instrument.
School funded lessons are offered with hire opportunities for many instruments. These include:
flute | oboe | clarinet | alto and tenor saxophone | trumpet | trombone | French horn | |
euphonium | violin | bass guitar | piano | guitar | voice |
NOTE: Piano, guitar and voice are subject to an audition process due to limited spaces. No hire is available on piano, guitar and drums.
