Interschool Sport & SSV Competitions

At Gleneagles Secondary College, interschool sport is a valued and vibrant part of our school culture. Through our involvement in School Sport Victoria (SSV) competitions, students are provided with meaningful opportunities to represent the College, challenge themselves, and compete against other schools across a diverse range of sports.

We proudly offer participation in a broad selection of team and individual sports from Years 7–12, including seasonal competitions, gala days and pathway events that may progress from division level through to regional and state championships.

A key focus of our interschool sport program is providing every student with the opportunity to get involved including trying something new. We actively encourage students to step outside their comfort zone, experience different sports, develop new skills, and discover talents they may not have realised they had. Whether a student is pursuing elite pathways or participating in a sport for the first time, our program is designed to be inclusive, supportive and engaging.

Our interschool sport program aims to:

  • Build school pride and team identity
  • Promote participation, inclusion and lifelong physical activity
  • Encourage students to explore new sporting experiences
  • Develop leadership, resilience and sportsmanship
  • Provide high-performance opportunities for talented athletes
  • Create positive and memorable competitive experiences

Led by passionate and experienced staff, our teams are well-prepared and proudly represent the College with integrity and determination. Through strong links with School Sport Victoria and our wider community, we are committed to providing structured, competitive and enjoyable sporting opportunities that support the holistic development of every student.
