Gleneagles is one of only 34 SEAL schools established by the Victorian Department of Education due to our successful High Achievers’ programme that began in 2004.

SEAL TEST DATE: Saturday 1 August, 2026

 

SEAL APPLICATIONS AND TEST PAYMENTS CLOSE:  Friday 24 July 2026 at 4.00pm

 

SEAL Testing does incur a testing fee of $99.00. The candidate must pay the fee directly to Edutest by 4.00pm on Friday 24 July 2026

The SEAL Year 7 2027 Application and the Parent Referral are to be completed and submitted by parents through the Edutest registration portal.

 

Teacher Referral Form – parents are asked to have Grade 6 2026 teachers complete the confidential Teacher Referral Form by Friday 24 July, 2026.

 

SEAL Test Date

The testing will be held on Saturday 1 August, 2026This is a 5-part paper based test and must be done on the day within the set timeframe.  

 

The assessment consists of five tests:

  1. Verbal Reasoning
  2. Numerical Reasoning
  3. Reading Comprehension
  4. Mathematics
  5. Written Expression

 

The College will contact each candidate once the results are available in late August - early September.

 

Note: Students who have not completed the online registration with Edutest, including the payment of the test fee of $99.00, by Friday 24 July 2026, will not be eligible to sit the SEAL Test.

HOW LONG HAS GLENEAGLES RUN A SEAL PROGRAM?

Gleneagles is one of only 34 SEAL schools established by the Victorian Department of Education due to our successful High Achievers’ programme that began in 2004. We undertook a rigorous accreditation process in 2007 to become an authorised SEAL school. The Department of Education has since passed the accreditation of SEAL schools on to The Academy of Accredited SEAL Schools (TAASS), of which Gleneagles is a foundation member. We completed our re-accreditation with TAASS in 2024. 

 

WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF THE SEAL PROGRAM?

We wish to engage and develop students who value and are passionate about learning.

We do this through:

  • engaging and challenging learning experiences
  • collaboration with peers of similar ability
  • developing perseverance, resilience and humility
  • enjoying strong, supportive friendships
  • providing a faster paced curriculum with less repetition
  • supporting greater study of highly abstract, complex and in-depth concepts
  • supporting students to develop complex, high level investigative, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
  • supporting the unique and complex emotional, social, and intellectual needs of gifted students.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN SEAL STUDENTS?

Our testing and interview process is designed to identify students who are naturally gifted in some or all of the following:

  1. Intellectual Ability
  2. Specific Academic Ability
  3. Creative/ Productive Ability
  4. Psychosocial/ Leadership Ability
  5. Visual and Performing Arts Ability

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SEAL STUDENTS

  • Many of our school leaders come from SEAL
  • Students may be offered up to three VCE subjects in Year 10
  • Students may be able to take on additional VCE units enabling greater breadth of learning
  • Links with mentoring programs such as Access Monash
  • Students may have the possibility of first year university subjects in Year 12 through providers such as the Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES)
  • Entry into State and National Competitions
  • Student Leadership including the Students’ Activities Leadership Team 
  • Exploratory Learning - Visiting Speakers, Workshops, Performances and Excursions
  • CSIRO Scientists in Schools
  • DAV Interschool Debating
  • Student Exchange, Language Trips, and Camps
