Wellbeing Team Breakfast Club: A Positive Start Every Day

Every morning, before the first bell rings, the Wellbeing Team at Gleneagles Secondary College opens its doors to students through the school's Breakfast Club.

A welcoming space where students can enjoy a nutritious breakfast while building meaningful connections with staff and their peers.

More than just a meal, Breakfast Club is driven by the team's passion for creating a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and ready to begin the day. Students are invited to enjoy a variety of free breakfast options, including cheese toasties, baked beans, cereal, toast, fresh fruit, and other nutritious choices that provide the energy they need for a successful day of learning.

The program is made possible through the dedication and generosity of the Wellbeing Team lead by Verna Randone, including Nive Talataina, Anthony Cupic, Carmen McGruddy, Benjamin Ratcliff, and Sylvia Kovacevic. Each member voluntarily gives their time every morning because they believe that a positive start to the day can make a lasting difference in a young person's wellbeing, confidence, and engagement at school.

Breakfast Club has become much more than a place to eat. It is a space where conversations begin, friendships are strengthened, and trusted relationships with staff are formed. These daily interactions help students feel connected to their school community, knowing there are caring adults who are ready to listen, encourage, and support them.

The Wellbeing Team is incredibly proud to provide this opportunity for students each day. By offering a free, nutritious breakfast alongside genuine care and connection, Breakfast Club continues to foster a welcoming school culture where every student has the chance to start their day feeling nourished, supported, and ready to succeed.
